Black Friday 2026 is Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on 30 November, and plenty of shops start their offers the week before.
Black Friday is the best time of year to buy the big Christmas toys, but only if you’re buying things they’ll actually play with. These are the toys worth waiting for a deal on for babies, toddlers and preschoolers: the ones that get played with for years, not forgotten by Boxing Day.
For a proper toy shop range, check The Entertainer’s Black Friday offers alongside Amazon. It’s always worth comparing the two.

How to Spot a Real Black Friday Toy Deal
- Check the price history: free tools like CamelCamelCamel and Keepa show if a “deal” is really the lowest price, or the same price it’s been all year.
- Compare with Prime Day: lots of toys hit the same price in October. My Prime Big Deal Days picks are a useful benchmark.
- Ignore the “was” price: look at what you’d actually pay elsewhere today.
- Write a list first: only buy what was on it. A discount on something they don’t need isn’t a saving.
- Check the returns window: many shops extend returns over Christmas, but not all, so check before you buy early.
Building Toys
Magna-Tiles
Expensive at full price, which is exactly why a Black Friday discount is worth having. Kids use these from toddlerhood right through primary school, and every set works with every other set.
Best for: the one toy that lasts the longest. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Picasso Tiles
The budget alternative to Magna-Tiles. They do the same job for a lot less, so they’re great if you want a big set.
Best for: magnetic tiles on a budget. 👉 Check price on Amazon
LEGO Duplo
Big chunky bricks that little hands can manage, and they’re compatible with normal LEGO later on. A Duplo train or town set is a brilliant first big present.
Best for: 18 months to about 4. 👉 Check price on Amazon
LEGO City Playsets
The step up from Duplo for reception age. A big fire station or police station keeps them busy for years.
Best for: 5 year olds. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Magnetic Ball Building Set
A different way to build that keeps things interesting if they already have tiles. Good to know: check the age on the box and keep any small magnetic pieces well away from babies and toddlers.
Best for: 3+ kids who love building. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Screen-Free Audio Players
Yoto Player
Kids pop in a card to play stories, music and podcasts with no screen. It doubles as a night light and clock, so it’s great for bedtime and quiet time. I’ve written about how we use it in my screen time post.
Best for: wind-down time and car journeys. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Toniebox
The squishy cube alternative to Yoto. Kids put a character figure on top to play their story, which younger ones find really easy to work out on their own.
Best for: younger preschoolers who love characters. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Balance Bikes, Scooters & Ride-Ons
Strider Balance Bike
The gold standard balance bike. Light enough for little ones to handle, and a Black Friday discount makes it far more reasonable.
Best for: first bikes from around 18 months to 2 years. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Puky Balance Bike
German-made and really well built. A good one to hand down to a younger sibling.
Best for: families who want one bike to last two kids. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Kiddimoto Balance Bike
Fun designs and a solid build. The one to pick if looks matter to your little one.
Best for: kids who want a bike that looks the part. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Micro Scooter
Micro is the premium brand, and you’ll see them outside every nursery for a reason. The three-wheel models are stable for little ones and last for years.
Best for: nursery and school runs. 👉 Check price on Amazon or try a budget 3-wheel scooter
Little Tikes Cozy Coupe
The classic red and yellow car. Toddlers love pushing it around the garden, and it’s one of those toys that seems to last forever. Or go for a premium ride-on car if you want something fancier.
Best for: 18 months to 4 years. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Play Kitchens & Pretend Play
KidKraft Deluxe Play Kitchen
A proper-sized kitchen with lots of features. Play kitchens get used for years, which makes them one of the best big presents to buy on a discount.
Best for: the main Christmas present. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Step2 Play Kitchen
A cheaper, wipe-clean plastic option that still does the job well.
Best for: smaller budgets and smaller spaces. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Tuff Tray
Not a toy exactly, but one of the most-used things in any toddler house. Sensory play, playdough, water play, small world, painting: it all goes in the tray. More ideas in my messy play guide.
Best for: keeping the mess in one place. 👉 Check price on Amazon
Outdoor Play (The Big Stuff)
Big garden toys are where Black Friday saves you the most money. Just check delivery times and where you’ll hide it until Christmas.
- Climbing frame: gets used multiple times a day in good weather
- Wooden playhouse: an investment that looks nice and lasts for years
- Metal swing and slide set: a classic that holds its value
- 8ft trampoline: pricey, but it genuinely gets used
- Sandpit with cover: cheaper than you’d think, and loved in summer
- Inflatable bouncy castle: a budget-friendly garden treat

Got Older Kids Too?
These aren’t for under 5s, but if you’re shopping for older siblings or cousins, they’re worth a look on Black Friday:
- Nintendo Switch and popular Switch games (check whether you’re buying the original Switch or the Switch 2)
- LEGO Friends large sets and LEGO Creator Expert for bigger builders
- Dash coding robot, LEGO WeDo robotics and Snap Circuits for STEM fans
- Jewellery making, slime and tie dye kits for crafty kids
- And one for you: the LEGO Botanical Collection. You’ve earned it.
Black Friday Toys UK: FAQs
When is Black Friday 2026 in the UK?
Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on 30 November. Many shops start their deals the week before, so keep an eye out from mid-November.
Are Black Friday toy deals actually worth it?
They can be, if you stick to toys you were already planning to buy. The best savings are usually on bigger items like Magna-Tiles, play kitchens, bikes and outdoor play. Cheap novelty toys are rarely a bargain, even with a discount.
Should I buy toys on Black Friday or wait until closer to Christmas?
For popular toys, Black Friday is usually the better bet, as both stock and discounts can disappear in December. Just check the returns window before you buy.
What are the best toys for a 2 year old on Black Friday?
LEGO Duplo, a balance bike, a Cozy Coupe or a play kitchen are all great at this age. My gifts for 2 year olds guide has more ideas.
