About Mum Approved

Hi, I’m Molly, the mum of two behind Mum Approved. If you’re anything like me, you know how completely overwhelming parenting can be. One minute you’re trying to figure out what to feed your toddler, the next you’re drowning in endless product options and conflicting advice online. It feels like you spend half your day just researching what might actually work, only to end up more confused than before. Trust me, I get it. It’s exhausting.

I’m a UK-based working mum juggling the chaos of school runs, nappies and holding down a job. Over the past few years I’ve spent countless hours testing baby and toddler gear and scouring the internet for the tips and routines that genuinely help. Honestly, it’s been a bit of a minefield. So much of the advice out there is contradictory or just plain unrealistic, and I’ve wasted money on things that promised the world and barely delivered. I wanted to find what actually works in real life, not just what looks good on Instagram or happens to sell well.

That’s why I created Mum Approved. I wanted to save fellow parents the time and frustration I went through. This isn’t about fancy marketing or overwhelming lists of stuff you don’t need. It’s a straightforward space with honest, practical recommendations based on real-life experience. No fluff, just the things that actually make a difference in day-to-day parenting.

On the site you’ll find honest product reviews across feeding, baby sleep, prams and travel, play and toys and days out, alongside real-life parenting tips that don’t sugarcoat the tough bits. If you’d rather cut to the chase, you can browse my full approved products list. Everything shared here is practical, realistic, and designed to save you time and stress so you can focus on what really matters: your little ones.

Who’s Behind Mum Approved

Just me: Molly, a mum of two young children in the UK. There’s no faceless team or big publisher here, which is rather the point. Everything is written from the perspective of someone in the thick of it, going through the same sleepless nights, fussy mealtimes and endless “is this actually worth buying?” moments as you. When it comes to anything going on my children’s skin, like suncream and bath products, I lean towards gentle, natural and mineral-based options, and I’ll always tell you when something didn’t make the cut in our house.

How I Choose What to Recommend

As a busy mum of two, I know how much time goes into researching baby and toddler products, and how overwhelming it can feel. While I have personally used many of the products featured on Mum Approved, I haven’t owned every single item. To make sure my recommendations are still genuinely helpful, I spend hours researching, reading reviews from other parents, speaking to friends and other mums, and, where possible, trying products out at playgroups or in real-life settings.

I focus on what actually works in everyday life, not just what looks good online. My promise to you is simple: I’ll be upfront about what works and what doesn’t, sharing both the pros and the cons so you can make informed choices. I only recommend products and tips I truly believe are worth your time and money. All opinions shared on this website, both positive and negative, are entirely my own and are based on honest research and real-life experience. They do not represent the views of any brands or companies mentioned.

Work With Me and Get in Touch

I love hearing from fellow parents, whether it’s a question, a product you’d like me to look into, or just a “me too” on the hard days. And if you’re a brand whose products genuinely fit what Mum Approved is about, I’d be glad to hear from you. You can find all the details on my Work With Me page.

Parenting is hard and messy and tiring, but you’re definitely not alone. Mum Approved is here to help lighten the load, even if it’s just by helping you find that one good product that makes a difference. Every small win counts, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Affiliate Links

Some links on the site are affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. It helps keep the site running. I include a clear disclosure at the top of any post that uses them, and it never changes which products I recommend: I only ever suggest things I would genuinely use with my own two.
